SAN RAFFAELE UROLOGIC ONCOLOGY RETREAT - 5th EDITION 2026
In the last decade, urologic oncology has undergone unprecedented and rapid transformation. Multidisciplinary collaboration among urologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, and nuclear medicine specialists has become the cornerstone of care for genitourinary tumors. Revolutionary advances in surgical techniques, radiotherapy, and an ever-expanding portfolio of systemic therapies—including targeted agents, immunotherapies, and antibody-drug conjugates— have fundamentally changed treatment paradigms for prostate, bladder, and kidney cancers. These developments have improved outcomes for many patients while simultaneously increasing the complexity of diagnostic and therapeutic decision-making. Continuous updating of shared clinical pathways is now essential, not only to deliver the highest quality of care but also to rationalize resources and avoid unnecessary interventions.
The San Raffaele Urologic Oncology Retreat has always been distinguished by its unique spirit: an open, candid, and collaborative forum dedicated to the in-depth discussion of ongoing clinical trials and emerging research. Far from a series of formal lectures, the meeting is designed to foster transparent exchange among experts, enabling the real-time translation of trial data into practical, patient-centered strategies. This 5th edition, to be held on Friday, December 4th, 2026 at the Aula San Raffaele – IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan, fully embodies that tradition.
The program opens with a comprehensive 2026 Update on the multidisciplinary management of genitourinary tumors, featuring international leaders in prostate, bladder, and kidney cancer. It continues with a keynote lecture on organ preservation and total neoadjuvant approaches, a dedicated multidisciplinary debate on the future of the EU clinical trials framework, and focused presentations on both industrial and academic research partnerships. Fresh updates from major collaborative groups across China, the United States, and Europe will be presented, together with point-of-care discussions on minimal residual disease monitoring, advanced imaging, and biomarker discovery. Breakout sessions and ample discussion time are deliberately built into the schedule to encourage the frank, interactive dialogue that has always defined the Retreat.
By bringing together national and international faculty in an intimate, residential format, the 5th San Raffaele Urologic Oncology Retreat aims to consolidate the state of the art in genitourinary oncology and to define homogeneous, high-quality care pathways for patients across the spectrum of urogenital neoplasms. We look forward to welcoming you to Milan for what promises to be another milestone of shared learning and forward-looking collaboration.
